Arrangements for the Resumption of Golf

Introduction

Recent government advice to ease us out of “lock-down” permits golf to be played by members playing alone, or with other members of the same household or with one other person outside of the same household, whilst at the same time keeping two metres apart and maintaining social distancing requirements. With this in mind members of WSGC will be permitted to use the golf course again from Wednesday 13th May.

N.B. Permission to play golf is conditional to the following social distancing rules –

  • Do not arrive early
  • If using the car park do not leave your vehicle more than five minutes prior to your tee time
  • Observe one-way system for golfers when entering and leaving the course
  • Club House will be closed – disabled toilet available in clubhouse entrance
  • Do not congregate in groups in the car park or on the course
  • Do not sit on benches
  • Do not touch the flag stick (flag to remain in hole at all times)
  • Do not use communal ball cleaners on course
  • Do not use practice net or practice putting green
  • No Rakes – Use feet to smooth over sand in bunkers
  • Do not touch other players golf ball
  • Do not shake hands at the start and end of round
  • Leave course and car park promptly on completion of your round

MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING – TWO METRES AT ALL TIMES

In addition, members must also book their tee-times in advance using a new on-line booking system. To use the booking system, members must use either the “How Did I Do” website or the “ClubV1 Members Hub App”. Tee-times will be available between 8.00am to 6.00pm for nine holes only and there will be a minimum of ten minutes separating each time slot. The first tee-times for Wed to Sunday will be available on 12th May from 7.00am approx. – Daily booking lists will usually be published a week in advance. For the time being, time slots will permit booking for two ball groups. Member may book for themselves and one other person, if they have the agreement to do so from the other person concerned.
