Message from the President
Hi everyone,
It doesn’t seem that long ago since my last message, I trust I find you well? I would like to start with thanking all those who attended Pearl’s funeral on the 1st of March. It was noticeable how many Past Club Captains attended, all in their Captains jackets and very fine they looked too. The Club was well represented to remember a very nice lady who served the club and its members well.
I am pleased to announce that the club, represented by the board of directors, will be signing the contracts for the sale of the land this coming Thursday 9th March. Our buyers are in the later stages of going for detailed plans for the three houses which principally are the same design as the drawing produced for the outline consent already awarded. Let us hope they have a smooth transition. We will be putting up on the notice board the final plans for the new clubhouse in the next couple of weeks. I think the new design is perfect for all our needs. So have a good look when you have an opportunity.
How great it is to see the lighter evenings now! I think the course is in great condition and is looking good for the new season starting later this month when we will be moved onto the white tees. I am particularly pleased that the time lost for playing during the winter months was very small indeed, so a big thank you goes to the team that look after the course especially for keeping electric trollies and buggies in use.
On the social side of the club, it proves that new blood on the committee is good for us all as members as the Bingo night was a great success enjoyed by all those who attended. I am pleased to say that this will be repeated during the winter months later this year.
We all look forward to the good weather so we can spend more time on the course; there is no better place to spend a few hours. That leads me on to just say there are members who are very unwell at the moment and are unlikely to get onto the course again, so please spare a thought for those people and if you can give them a ring or even pop to see them all the better.
